Usage:
- Express the fact that 2 things are opposite
- Also used to state both positive and negative characteristics of thing.
- Alternative form is -(으)ㄴ/는 데 반해

Tense:

Adjective :
- -(으)ㄴ 반면에

Verb :
- 과거 : -(으)ㄴ 반면에
- 현재 : -는 반면에

Examples:

1. 지금 다니고 있는 회사가 어때요?
- 일은 많은 반면에 월급은 적어서 회사를 옮길까해요.

How is your current company?
- There are a lot of work, but salary is low, so I am considering changing jobs.

2. 앤디 씨는 정말 운동을 잘하네요!
- 저는 운동은 잘하는 반면에 공부는 못해요.

Andy is really good at sports!
- While I am good at sports, I am not a good student.

3. 지하철은 빠른 반면에 출퇴근 시간에는 사람이 많아요.

While the subway is fast, it is crowded during rush hour.
